James asked on the post http://traditionalpainter.com/painting-prep

how do you remove dried and cured solvent base silicon sealant that has been used to glue together granite and pine.

I use Sili-Kill, very easy to use, just brush it on and leave it work its magic. It works by breaking down the adhesion to the substrate. Cheap as chips, £3.51 from Toolstation http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Adhesives%20&%20Sealants/General%20Sealants/Silicone%20Eater/d180/sd2350/p45066
